I wrote this Elizabethan poem in response to what I've seen recently of today's people.
“The Men of Today”

Men were the Lord’s greatest creations.
The Father made them in his own image.
They were not spoiled by worldly possessions.
So different are the men of this age


All they do is invest, wait and gather.
They’d care about the green, not the red.
At neighbor’s cost, they’d collect more.
And anyone who fights back would be dead.

Narcissism replaces piety,
Justice and the truth are ousted by fraud,
Peace and order are killed by anarchy,
And for some, wealth and power dethrone God.

These are the corrupted men of today.
For their salvation, to the Lord I pray.
