Young Love.
Your scent still lingers on my shirt,
Though you’re not there
A ghostly reminder of before
Enveloping me with care.

My love for you was less than love, but
More than love, oh so much more!
A confusing tumult of emotions
That leaves me lifeless on the floor.

To me you were perfection.
Daylight danced as you smiled.
Uncontrollably, undisputedly
I loved you like a child.

You were my Socrates.
All the wisdom in the world
Was locked in your eyes…
But now, you are gone.
And the hemlock leaves a bitter taste
