A poem written to my father about letting me grow up.
Dear Dad

I have valved your support
Letting me enjoy my hobbies
teaching me how to live off my environment
Horse, Hunting, Fishing, camping, Rodeos all because of you

But I'm an adult Now
Should be allowed to make my own mistakes
I won't be the same person my siblings are
But I have learned from their mistakes

At the same time, I need you
to let me make my own mistakes
so I can learn from them
let me take chances

It's true I wouldn't be who I am
without your guidance
planning on finish college
then having a loving family

I see myself achieving my goals in life
because you embedded skills and morals in me
that makes it possible
to be the person I want to be

I need you to let me
be this person
but to be this person
I need freedom from you

I wrote this during a period of time, when my Dad wasn't letting me do anything I wanted. He was scared I would make mistakes my siblings made. Wrote on 2/15/12. This still needs edited, and before anyone says anything I will be 19 in an month.
