Reminiscing about childhood friends

Friends forever, I believe that was the statement made.

Five friends, always there for each other.

One dropped off her senior year.
She found her special someone.
She has a husband, kids now, and a life.
I remember her fondly as a kid;
tomboy type, sports, hunting, fishing.
She didn't care, as long as it was outside.

She was my day.

One dropped off in College.
She decided the small town life wasn't for her.
She jumped on a plane and headed to the largest state she could find.
She has a home, her career and is happy.
I remember her fondly as a kid.
She was small, scrawny, always smiling, never judging, and loved life.

She was my soul.

One dropped off a little later on.
She found that travel was in her blood.
She took the first opportunity, and left the nest.
Country to country, I believe she runs.
I remember her fondly as a kid.
She would take every risk imaginable, rock climbing, skiing, jumping out of cars.
She was athletic, smart and driven.

She was my spirit.

One dropped off as time flew by.
She found children to be in her soul.
She opened-up her heart to many and provided care to children.
I remember her fondly as a kid.
Making sure everyone always felt they fit in.
Honest, open, and caring is how she carried herself.

She was my inspiration.

One is still here, as she sits in her chair.
Remembering how she got here, and those who helped along the way.
She has kids now and is driven, open, honest, smart and loved.
I remember her fondly as a kid.
Learning everyday from the other four.

They gave me; my day, my soul, my spirit, and my inspiration.

Friends forever, I believe that was the statement made.
