A satirical piece that highlights the ignorance and naivety of American voters.
Behold, there thou stand,
At thy podium of power
An awe aura surrounds thee
In thy presence I doth cower

Hark, such words of wisdom
Doth come from thy lips
Thou hath knowledge on thy tongue
And armies on thy tips

Come hither friends, take heed
And mark this man's mystique
Art thou a God I say!
Such brilliance doth thou speak!

Whence did this man descend?
What realm beheld this king?
Such promises he makes
Such joy doth he bring!

Thou hath measurable power
Yet power beyond measure
These words that thou preaches
To my heart dost bring pleasure

Long have my people waited
For someone such as thee
To arouse our deadened hopes
And reawaken our lost dreams

Thy magnificence has assured me
As I saunter to the line
With these commitments thou have made
This ballot of mine is thine
