Poem about being infatuated with a terrible man.
Enigma

Thus far have I seen sullen beauty
Presented in a creature of high stature.
Such eyes devour the light in me
To resolve to their darkened glow.
I can only cry for an explanation
Of the man dressed in stone.
Life is imprudent to the dry soul
Of a beggar--such as I--
Eager for the extension of
Man's free passion.
And if I could be governess to his
Heart and mind with but sultry words
His firm grasp wouldn't suffer me so.
Such fine art created
In the heart of my mind.
