about the tide of emotions
Tossing and turning like a ship on the tide
rising and dipping like a false sense of pride
pretending so long you feel like a wreck
plankton and seaweed smother the deck
Broken in pieces at the mouth of the shore
Heart and soul bruised battered and sore
Lying on the sand hoping not to rot away
open eyes to sunny skies to fight another day
