Roses are red, but so is the blood

It pours from the soul, and into the mud

Dribbling down, so sticky and slow

Dampens the earth where the red roses grow.



Violets are blue, but so are the tears

That pour from the soul, locked up all these years

Silently sloshing, they mix with the mud

So the roses can grow, as red as the blood.



Sugar is sweet, but so is revenge

These violent delights have their violent ends

Twisted and tainted, after so many years

Darkened to black, through the blue of the tears.



And so she lies next to him on the damp ground

Never again to make a sound

The passionate tragedy, sweet like revenge

These violent delights have their violent ends.
