This is something I wrote around the time of Hurricane Katrina. The bipolar of Nature.
Swallowed by the height
Of the sun’s perfect bread,
She counts the number of tracks
Of the living and the dead.

Her ever-poisoned face
Reveals God’s demons.
Oblivious to the world.
Sinking all her seamen.

What has become of her
But a stat on the tele.
She is up to H now.
The next one could be Hallie.

The thousands of rooftops
She tramples right over.
Damage so elite,
The world tucks in their rovers.

The smog-blasted air,
And the landfills of bodies
Play no significant role
In this cross-dresser’s paradise.

A cruel-intentioned mother
She must have…
To disturb the peaceful waters,
And call it Gustav.
