Extended metaphor of a winter coldness
Winter breeze

The winter breeze is a ghost; it drifts from place to place unseen
Its cold, frigid breath brings shivers down our spines
As we exhale our warm breath, the soul-like vapour is drained out of us
Gradually the cold increases, and increases, we try our best to keep warm

The winter breeze hungers for more power, consuming all warmth accessible
As I awake, a thin layer of frost cloaks the Earth
I dress myself in thick clothing, salvaging all heat possible
As the days of cold pass, I await for the rebirth of spring’s warmth
