This is a poem I wrote for my school project and it is in the form of a Sestina.
In her arms is held a child of which is now only a
Broken memory of what it could become.  It is an
Image of those who came before it; a bias which its life shall be based. It cries for good reason;
The pressure of a thousand tons pressing harder down into a baby's subconscious.
The tears of which are as natural and occurring as the feel of rain washing over the land
To cleanse a sin ridden earth.

A childs’ hunger rings like the songs of sirens over the ears of the earth.
Voices of mothers scream in a
Desperate escape from the hands of the children clasping the land;
The constant reminder of their need; an

Maybe they scream in pain for their belittled and beaten subconscious.
The beliefs of such a small being exiled across our land.
"This is a
rally for acceptance!" They would cry, and for what reason?
"We are entitled to a voice on this earth!"
The petty wails of a child are an

Existing primal form of a want. Though too young for an
actual desire, their subconscious
Instinct pressures them further into digging claws into the earth,
To setting a destructive inferno to the grasses and a flame to their land.
And for what reason?
For a form of a

Mother's love that births an essential land
For a child’s subconscious to form reason.
And she loves him! Holds him closer than the earth holds her. The reason a child cries is a...
