My first poem.
Before she came along everything was alright
Didn't know where I belong but at least I slept at night
I planted Blood Red Roses somewhere deep inside

I looked but I could never find someone like me
I left the world behind and all its agony
And beneath the Blood Red Roses a place for my heart to hide

Time taught my eyes how to become jaded
All sense of love and hope eventually faded
I trapped my soul in an Eden with no door

Then you came along with eyes of an angel
A voice like a song to which I was a stranger
And my soul wasn't content with its prison no more

For days and nights my senses would battle
My rock-hard convictions started to rattle
One part to kill cupid the other to worship it's arrow

Till one day my soul could take it longer
The things you said only made it stronger
I laid the Blood Red Roses on the path for me to follow

But you said no and my heart broke
Filled my head with acrid smoke
And the perfume of burning Blood Red Roses

And I went back to the same old cold
From thoughts no heart should ever hold
Until the show that is my life ends when the curtain close
