the actor's point of view, in a violent movie, in the scene where the actor is killed.
"Wow! I still can't believe it! here I am, on the set, yeah I'm friggin' nervous as hell but
if I couldn't do this I wouldn't be here. They liked my audition, all i have i the one line, and
then BLAM! I'm dead. Just like that..." "Mr. M.? Hi! I'm Jane, the production assistant. I'm
going to take you to the set, where you will do your scene. I'm going mark where you will be sitting at your desk, and mark where you will fall and die. Don't worry, we will rehearse the scene a few times, so that the electricians can cue the lighting. Then the sound technicians
will be doing the audio checks. Most important, the cameramen will position their cameras
for the scenes. The director is going to tell you what he needs you to do. Its OK if you're nervous, that's normal, just try to relax, and you'll do fine."
"Mr. M., I need you to sit here at your desk where you will be going over the papers
as you drink your morning coffee. This is your office, you've been here for years, doing this very thing, so this is your normal morning routine. Pretend you are the only one here, alone.
there are no cameras, no lights, no director, no people. Just you." A man will walk in through
that door, you are going to casually look up as he walks in, say your line, and he is going to
pull a shotgun out from under his coat, and shoot you. You will be blown out of your chair,
in this direction, and land on the floor over here, where I've marked the floor. The killer will
walk around to you, jacking another round into the chamber, stand over you and shoot you
again, and again until his gun is empty."
"Mr. M., this is the Director for this film, M.S.. He will take over from here on out." "How are you Mr. M., this is what I really need from you. You need to not 'expect' that you are about to be killed. As you look up,and say your line, I want you to be casual, almost bored.
As the shooter pulls up his gun, there is no time to react, he will start shooting you as you say the last word of your line. Your only reaction is getting shot, you never see it coming.
As he continues to shoot you, you are already dead from the first shot, your body just jerks on the floor with each shot there after. Got it? We're going to do a few takes, to get everything right, then when we're satisfied, the special effects crew will prep you with the squibs, and we'll roll film. Are you ready?"
