For Contest "Expressions of Emotion" about dealing w/ dying
These, dying words,
she spoke in distress.
desperately, I clung to each
one, as she drifted.

"once upon a time,
and what wondrous thing,' time'...
Child, where's it gone?
Appears it escaped
while I slept.
Common thief!"

Her words matched euphony
striking the deepest arteries inside.
Such agony ,
boiled over my senses.

death lurked in the shadows
she whispered in my ear:
a faint mumble...
"you cry in vain.. "

"you cry too grandma"

"for never, child. for never."

those, her last words..
last words to which I refuse to resign.
