A villanelle about the human desire to expand in a universe that is constantly expanding.
In a universe ever expanding
We wander, mere specks of dust
We look for purpose; ever evolving

Look to the stars, always revolving
For a sign we can trust
In a universe ever expanding

Our quest, always meddling
With forces beyond our thrust
We look for purpose; ever evolving

Provoke evolutionary remodeling
With insatiable blood lust
In a universe ever expanding

Technology infused with humanity, devouring
The limits of the soul's crust
We look for purpose; ever evolving

Phenomena we find engaging
We wander, mere specks of dust
In a universe ever expanding
We look for purpose; ever evolving
