Dark emotional poem
Let the monsters recede into darkness
I am the animal within
I claim body and mind without solace
Terror reigns when you let me in

The dark is my realm
But I walk the path of light
I breach heart with intent to overwhelm
Then without trace I begin flight

My actions bear not origins in anger but fear
Fear of eternal solitude, damnation beckoning a future too sheer

Just an animal
Not tempered in darkness where monsters fester and sadness is born
Just an animal
Mortal, soft and capable of any feat; inexplicable existence that reveals the danger of a free variable without meaning
Just an animal
The bane of your existence and your salvation
I am just an animal
The animal you fostered for your protection, the animal that pushed your monsters back, the animal you then neglected, and the animal that can never be natural again
Just an animal.
