Short poem when I was alone. Creative outlet while waiting to start work...
To sit and stare but not really look and to never truly see.
That's all that there ever was to me.
By chance my glance fell upon the sea.
Then I remembered you and me.

Away you flew and the chase was bliss.
Your wings were clipped but they knew lift by sheer will.
My legs knew strength but soul was not part of this.
I found you at every turn and reveled at each thrill.

You found strength again but I faltered with bitterness and hate.
Not an angel but I fell still.
I clawed back at the gates despite the scent of vacancy; I drew in all that was left but the pain will never abate.
