Going up the down escalator.

Who can resist those moving stairs?
Those tempting and descending stairs!
I cannot stop myself from there,
so steady do they flow with flair;
the stairs, stairs, stairs,
stairs, stairs, stairs, stairs,
those steady flowing stairs!

I want to climb those silver stairs,
those luring and assuring stairs!
I want to climb and be aware
that they move opposite my dare;
the stairs, stairs, stairs,
stairs, stairs, stairs, stairs,
those silver luring stairs!

So I go up the downward stairs,
those streaming and step-teeming stairs!
My upward progress, only fair,
sometimes I think I get nowhere!
The stairs, stairs, stairs,
stairs, stairs, stairs, stairs,
I’m going up the stairs!

I’m closing in atop the stairs,
those flexing and perplexing stairs!
Yet now I see folk everywhere,
and all they seem to do is stare!
The stares, stares, stares,
stares, stares, stares, stares,
I’m getting all the stares!
