My response to the prompt, "Walking north one day...and walked the other way."
In the Light of the Sun
by Cam Reed

Walking north one day, I suddenly noticed something was wrong. My shadow was on my left. I turned and saw the sun, setting in the east.

"Why are you going the wrong way?" I asked the sun.

"I have always gone one way, I want to see the world from a different angle."

I thought about this for a long time.

"How long will you circle the Earth backwards?"

"When I am bored with the sights," the sun answered, "I will choose a new direction."

I said goodbye to the sun as it sank behind the mountains. I continued north, still pondering what I'd heard.

Then I stopped, turned around, and walked the other way.
