A child's goodnight
Good Night
by ~Eellusion

Pick me up off the floor where I lay
Carry me to bed, I've had a busy day
Lock the doors and seal the windows tight
So that nothing can get in tonight

Check my closet and under my bed
Shoo away the monsters with eyes that glow red
Untie my boots and take them to the door
Rest them carefully on the carpeted floor

Pull up my blanket so I am warm and snug
Say those words that will keep me from the bed bug
Kiss me gently on my face
Let me drift to a happy place

Go now and sleep, I'll be fine
In your room that is next to mine
Do not worry about me
I'll be fine till morning, just wait and see

I shall have such happy dreams
Of faerie lights, silver stars and white moon beams
You shall be there also. To
Chase away nightmares few

The heavens watch me from afar
Please leave the door open ajar
Please turn out the light
I love you and goodnight.
