Not my favorite, but its one of my first poems and I hope you like it.
The stars are out, the moon shines bright,

And all around is solid night.

In the big field standing all alone,

Is a little girl they call Missy Rose.

She stands alone, wanting to be loved,

As she stares at the stars in heaven above.

She finds the big dipper, and at the end of its tail,

Follow the gap to the end of the trail.

She says to herself, yet also out loud,

“That will be my star, cause it stands out in the crowd!”

Now she knows the star is her own…

And she also knows now, she is never alone.
