Reach me...
REACH

If I clench my teeth, will I be able to reach the other side

If I begin my journey, with my feet walking in tandem with the heat of rejection,

Will I be able to reach the end of the world?

If I close my eyes, and cross my fingers

If I break into the silence of eternity

If I move into the light of a warm face

Will I be able to see you smiling back?

Will I be able to breathe again?

Or, am I just not fit to fight this race?

Am I not foolish even to reach out?

Grab a hold of the dagger’s hand

The sweet temptation of a thirst kiss

Where does this road lead?

Where does this confliction end?

I’ve lived the wrath of another life

And I’ve screamed out the wickedness of a present disaster

And yet, where does this all take me?

Where are my feet to go?

Where do these tears reach?

And when will these worn-in shoes be revived?

Can I reach out to you?

Will you follow my footsteps and pick up the shattered,

Scattered pieces of glass

Teardrops from a lost time

Haphazardly leaping to the floor?

Will you pick them up?

Keep them in your little crystal case

And sigh with every memory?

I break for you

I want you

There is no desire that is as fervent inside of me as that

There is no pain that could rival it

No fear that could penetrate it

No sadness that could dissolve it

It feasts upon itself

Helplessly roaring as it tears at my heart

Pierces into my flesh

Destroys me

Completes me

Leads me into the other side of the world

And yet, I cannot reach out to you

Cannot see you

Cannot bring myself to understand you

Where are you in this heat?

Where are you in this heart of mine?

Our love was nurtured so beautifully

Our story together was made so effortlessly

So, where are you now?

Have you slipped off to the end of the world?

Do I dare to follow you?

Or, more, is that where the healing truly begins

I need your warmth

I need you to reach me

I need to be a child with you once again

Helpless

Emotional

Passionate

Free

I need your light

And before I fall off and out of the world

Before I grasp hold of the stars, and ride the waves of misunderstanding

Before I lose my perception of what is real

Reach out to me...

Reach into me...

Reach through me...

Reach me...
