distant lovers.
Come over whenever you'd
like, the door is always open
for you.

We'll make a light dinner
together, getting more
food on each other and
the floor than in our
stomachs.

The water will be set at
the perfect temperature
while I wash dishes.

You come up behind me,
wrapping your right arm
around my waist, pulling
me close to you.

Your left hand gently
moves my hair and your
soft, warm lips press
against the skin on my
neck, sending shivers
all over my body.

I sigh happily, taking in
your scent and cherishing
every moment that I
have with you, for I know
they are few and far
between.

I'll tell you how proud I
am of you, reassuring
that you're doing the
right thing, as we watch
your favourite film.

My head on your chest,
my brown curls sprawled
across your torso. I hear
the beating of your heart.

I watch your delicate face,
your caspian blue eyes, as
you chew on your bottom
lip, anticipating the protagonist
to escape his doom.

We'll fall asleep, nestled
on the couch, wrapped
up in the warmest of
my blankets.

I can't help but miss you
when you aren't even gone.
But when we wake up, I'll
give you my favourite
shirt to ensure that'll
you'll come back home to
me and lay in my loving
arms.

You are what was missing
in my life. Always and
forever, I love you.
