I shake
Nervous steps
I take
The world
The one called home
The one not mine
Rotates below
Sickness enthralled
A season less stall
Time hold no hands
The clock does not move
Mired within existence
I am doing what I can
What I am sure I must
Shame filled and rude
Bitter to the end
Beyond thin skin
Hating all of you
More than I hate myself
Impossible it seems
As real as a dream
Unbreakable I scream
Set me free
From these binds
Of such a melodramatic mind
Ridiculous
I'm sure that all who read me
Would agree
The realities of such appearances bleed
Hemorrhaging copious amounts
Staining my colorless world
Onto the page all that is me flows
Words woven into symbols
Readable cries for help
Sincere apologies over such a plight
No one really knows the real me
And if they did
They would further refuse
They would turn and flee
Condemnation
Through association
Obliteration
Through a terminal addiction
It's unfair for me
To ask so many to risk
It's not right for me
To assume that they want to care
Caring is an affliction
That opens us up to deception
We want to believe
So we let our guard down
We let the wolf inside
We let the darkness scream
I could never blame them
My victims that is
I will only blame myself
And the superlative nature
Of an unseen God of circumstance
He holds all the cards
He deals all the hands
The odds are his to win
We will all lose
Most of all a man like me
Life is a gamble
A risk of unimaginable depths
Each breath we take
Means nothing without the next
Each beat of our heart
Burdens the spark of a life
That is really not ours
I know more than most
Such knowledge is powerful
It makes the weak seem strong
Pseudo justification
Right, wrong, in between
Means not a damn thing
God's clarity has become clouded
By the causality of who we are
And what we are capable of
Condemnation
Through association
Makes all the difference
Otherwise those who know me
Would stand a greater chance
But I fear that is not how it is
The powers that be
Have plans for me
As well as all of you
My life, sickness and strife
Will someday culminate
Into something beyond all that
It has meant for me to be
And if it doesn't then at least I tried
To make sure that it would…
