A poem about the frustration of not making progress
Spinning My Wheels
By GL Morris

I remember my life,
How it was at one time,
Just a walk in the park

Now it’s troubled and strife
Plays a cardinal part
Here with you on my mind

I don’t think it’s a sin
To regret where you’ve been
I’m not looking to blame
Or to cast any shame

I’m simply

Spinning my wheels, spinning my wheels on icy ground
Spinning my wheels, spinning my wheels, hoping you’ll come around

Maybe there’ll come a day
When I’ll find my way out
Of this dreaded abyss

When the sun starts to shine
With the warmth of your kiss
And your heart melts with mine

I don’t think it’s in vain
To want to hold you again
Wish I was already there
Feel like I’m going nowhere

I’m simply

Spinning my wheels, spinning my wheels on icy ground
Spinning my wheels, spinning my wheels, hoping you’ll come around
