This is my entry for flash fiction. The story I have working is longer, this is shorter.
The demon comes for me nightly, waking me, welcoming me to hell. He comes when others are safe in their bed, and only after midnight. I have a voice to warn and awake, but fear, with his cold and dead grip, wraps his slimy fingers around my throat and I cannot let out a scream. But not tonight, tonight he cannot wake me, tonight is different.

My name is a normal name, not unlike any you have ever heard. I live in a city just like yours, in a neighborhood just like yours. I only wish my story was one of a kind, but sadly, it is not...

He came when I was six years old and mommy died. I still remember that day, six years ago today exactly, as it were yesterday. Today is the anniversary of our first meeting and tonight I know he has something planned. I go through my day, through my class half scared as always. I don't have any friends, because my demon has made me ugly, he has scarred me and marked me, and nobody knows. The time seems to go fast, almost mocking me and my pain. In class, now on my way to lunch, I won't be eating much as usual, I'm just so scared, I wanna scream, but I can't. The last bell rings and I am so scared of the longest walk home, to my house next door.

I reluctantly open the door to my suburban house. But then a plan forms. See daddy doesn't come home until he has had his fill. I begin to smile, because tonight is different. Tonight my demon can't have me, tonight he can't hurt me.

A blade kisses my wrists, and I write in blood, "You can't wake me tonight daddy"...
