A writer's cramp submission that should stand sturdily on it's own three legs

The Eager Oracle

It happened in accordance
with the prophecy. How could
it not?

Russ was the only one who knew
took great pains, in fact to eschew.
great plans:

Took a sawmill job in Idaho.
Learned of green chain, hog fuel,
Unhappiness.

His secret would not let-off:
Jonah-esque Russ sailed
Aloft. Oft!

With great disdain he
Looked upon so-called seers.
Charlatans!

He loved a girl, in Oregon.
She saw straight past his
Crookedness.

He knew that she was far above,
The worldly grump he had
Transformed into.

But, one evening in the setting
Sun, a dunderheaded oaf, sat
With his love.

And seemed to both to be in love.
The girl said 'twas as she'd
Ever seen.

Her God would not see her
Frustrated. Though Russ may be
Long extricated.

Soon followed, she, to where
Folks go to fish and hunt deer and
Black bear.

And in a tiny, smoky stall,
Found Russ alone, back to a wall.
Unaccountable,

The joy in Russ. He still recounts
His pains and fuss; 'Neath a shade tree
In Nineveh.
