A poem for the graduates.
As we step into the sun, step into the earth’s wild fray
Let us not forget these times, Let us not forget these days.
For how can the children of eagles’ nests fly
But on the days we made?

Remember great minds of next days,
These spires and arches that marked your ways.
Remember the moments you fell and struck the ground
In an attempt to fly, an end of despair,
Remember the moments of loss and pain, worry and terror
For you now have stepped beyond,
Look up at the clouds, for you’re there.

Do not forget the halls you have walked,
The spires behind you, the duels prevailed
Think of the ultimate prize beyond
The golden trophy you for so long sought
Think of the legacy you shall leave behind
But never forget the halls you have walked.

Think of that which brought you here, the opening gates
On opening day.
Think of the passion that drove you to succeed,
The passion that drove you to success.
Consider to yourself the failures that nearly made you flee
If I may beg a question, do the triumphs supersede?

Surrounded by our peers we laugh in danger
And cry in our defeat,
Now upon the day you part, think fond of those memories
Who of those at your elbows are your guardians and friends?
Who of them your happiness and honor defends?
Who holds your heart and you perhaps clasp theirs?
Who holds your memories, a whistle in the air?
Who made you laugh and smile upon the long hard path?
Who got you here, upon this day?
Who, in heart and mind, will last?

Ignore not your Socrates, those who steered your walk,
through suffering and dismay
And marked today as the day
Their work came to an end as their pupil walked away.
Owe you to them your minds success,
And the lessons unconquerable stress
Never forget the ones who taught
In the long halls you have walked.

Take the reigns as you mount your horse
Into the battle we all must ride,
Today is the day eagles’ wings fly
The day you set forth on the campaign
The day the world opens it arms
The day the masters of tomorrow become the masters of today
But never forget the moments here,
the places you walked yesterday
Never forget the Halls you have walked.
Never forget these days.
