Fear of hurt can be paralyzing
I want to fly, but if I fall,
         I don't want it to hurt.

I want to soar, but if I fail,
         I don't want it to hurt.

I want to connect, but if you reject me,
         I don't want it to hurt.

I want to love, but in the risk,
         I don't want it to hurt.

If I die, in the passing,
         I don't want it to hurt.

For fear of hurt, I want the cure, BUT
         I don't want IT to hurt.
