A poem I wrote this morning, while I wasn't feeling very poetic
Inspiration

Inspiration wells and overflows
And always behaves like tides
It ebbs and flows, comes and goes
The muse with a mind of her own

Inspiration has left me alone today
So this poem must be short
Each word I say is forced and grey
The muse has gone away

We are slaves to this villain’s whims
Writers held in bondage
When our pen is dry again
The muse must laugh and grin

But I will break these heavy chains
I write without the muse
Though no words came I wrote all the same
The muse will fear my name

So writers I encourage you
When you feel like no words are yours
To fight the muse and write what’s true
The muse will fear you too
