A poem about a girl realizing she is stronger than once believed.
I am just a girl,
with short hair.
I am just a girl,
with tattoos and piercings.

I am just a girl,
who loves all black.
I am just a girl,
whose never been in the sack.

I am just a girl,
whose been tattered and used.
I am just a girl,
who has been battered and abused.

I am just a girl,
who has been dragged through the mud again and again.
I am just a girl,
who has been through hell and never let out a sigh.
I am just a girl,
who has looked evil in the eye.

No,
I am not just a girl.
I am a woman,
who loves those around her.
I am a woman,
who uses her past to make a brighter future.
I am a woman,
who refuses to give up.

I am not just a woman.
I will not be defined by my reproductive organs.
I will not be ignored by a "man made" world.
I am stronger than I look.
I will never be silent about my past,
my mistakes.
You will never silence me.

I am not just a woman,
I am soul.
