The first poem I ever wrote for a person I love.

As I sit in darkness and constant frustration, I think of her

Her eyes and her smile, hair and skin

                    I am released,

I close my eyes and see her lying beside me,

                      A perfect representation of love,

The freckle on her lip stretches as she smiles,

her brown eyes stare into mine.

She links our fingers and pulls me closer,

                          Face to face. Inches apart.

pressing her forehead against mine, she smiles, and ruffles my hair

reminding me of what I have.

                        The little things,

The dimple on one side of her mouth, the freckles on her belly and the small gap between her teeth,

The corners of my mouth tremble,                          Weeping with a smile upon my face,

  Her love for me shines,

through her face and through her body,

her kindness surrounds me and cushions my falls.

her innocence is my light in a world of darkness .

and I will never give her up.

My eyes stay shut                                          I want this vision forever.
