Thoughts which surface after thirty-eight years of marriage
THOUGHTS ON MY MARRIAGE

Was it luck, intuition, that I found you?
At first sight I knew
From your physique, unassuming stance
That here was a chance worthwhile

And it was to be
You married me
Kind husband
Patient and compromising

A wonderful father
Your sons still remember
Hours of reading
Special outings
Fun and adventure

At peace with you at my side
Amazed by your knowledge
You’ve opened my mind
To interesting facts of all kinds

I’ve grown
I am happy

Now adults
Our children are grateful
For your fathering style
For our mutual respect
And doing the best that we could

A marriage where positives
Outweigh effort and trials

Content and grateful
That’s how I feel

A family blessed

A woman blessed
