Poem about loss, blame, and suicide.
Gone

Is that you my dear?

Whispering and sighing
Your words of forgiveness?

Are you the wind?

Is that you my dear?

Are you rattling the trees?
Reminding me of your new peaceful place

Are you in that warm breeze?

Is that you my dear?

Are you sending me warm shivers
Of comfort and serenity?

Are you in my soul?

Is that you my dear?

Are you that tap, tap, tap
On my window?

Are you trying to speak?

Is that you my dear?

Are you calling to me in the still of night

In your own voiceless sounds?

Are you offering me mercy?

Is that you my dear?

Are you trying to tell me

That you have pardoned our harsh words,

Forgotten our cruelty,

Are you better off now?

My dear we were awful,

We never saw you,

We never knew you,

We never understood.

My dear you are freeing me

I feel it in the rain

When the water falls,

I feel you cleansing our spirits.

Thank you my dear.

Thank you for loving us.

Thank you for the time you gave.

Thank you for forgiving.

I will always be sorry my dear

Will always wish I had seen.

Always wish I had known.

Always wish I had looked.

But you are happy now.
You are where you are supposed to be.

You are with the angels, my dear.

You always were an angel my dear.

I am so, so very sorry my dear.

I’m sorry I was too late

I’m sorry I hurt you.

I am sorry I tore you down.

But most of all my dear,

More than anything else,

I am sorry, I am sorry,
