a poem about a drunken night out
A few drinks down the local to start the night
But I am ready for the club and its flashing lights.
The alcohol kicks in and the club draws near
An atmosphere for sure, someone whispers in my ear.

Approaching the club the anticipation excites,
Girls flow past us in short skirts and tops that are tight.
We enter the club, DJ's tunes electrifying the place
A drunken clubber stumbles into me, I can't look at their face.
My friends are dancing and I'm standing by the bar,
I know i look alone but I just can't walk that far.

I give a girl on the dance floor the cheeky eye,
My mates laugh as she looks at me and walks on by.
I guess even sober iv'e always been that bit shy.
It's coming to an end now the club's bar calls time,
My last drink is downed a double vodka coke and lime.

On the way home me and mates get a kebab,
When your drunk this sort of food just tastes fab.
Getting into the taxi brings a close to the night,
Looking at my mates I think we look a sorry sight.
I am never drinking again I hear my mates all say,
Next weekend arrives, taxi gets nearer, which club is it again Ray?
