A warrior hunts a criminal in the night. (20 lines)
He rode his mount, spear in his hand,
In the night, the forest dark,
He hunted, swiftly, dodged stray branches,
His knightly armour evading bark.

His prey ran hard, ran fast and quick,
But hooves out-speed a man's shoes
The gap grew smaller, closer now,
His heinous crime had no excuse.

The spear-hand rose, prepared to fling,
His aim was always true,
A wooden shaft flew through the air,
And the beastly man was slew.

The horseman roared, arms in the air,
But he had stopped his careful glances,
For as he rode to claim his prize,
He slammed into one of the branches.

A dazed boy woke, head fiercely pounding,
His horse and prize no more,
His lost spear mixed with fallen sticks,
The warrior at age four.
