A short poem of a loved one's choice to commit suicide
Do you know the sound of a gunshot?
I have heard them in the movies…
Down the street maybe – I’m not sure.
Perhaps it was a backfire.

Do you know the pain of a gunshot?
I’ve seen it on TV…
Slow motion bodies riddled with bullets
It seems made for the big screen.

I left for only twenty minutes
And there was a gunshot in my home
And when I got back
The door was closed.

I didn’t hear it, or see it, or know it.
I went about my business after the gunshot
At seven thirty (eight hours later) – I felt the gunshot

With three rings of the telephone
“Zeiti is dead – he shot himself”
Do you know the sound of gunshot?
I have heard them in the movies…
