A poem that views philosophy with playful word-play that Dr. Seuss works are known for.
“A Stream of Consciousness for the Mind of Dr. Seuss”
By: Alice Rose

I do what I want
Not what I say
All of this just so
You’ll “Have a nice day”
But here I am
I promise you
A life of mockery and a rubber shoe
To bust your chops for a meal
I mean a bet, I mean a deal
It doesn’t matter, didn’t matter
Never should, never would, never could
This is a game for us to play
But we’ll save that for another
Done dog, damn day
Do it again and see what I say
Save the seashells by the shore
Or say it twice or once more
A few tongue twisting tyrants
Never did any harmful harm
But harm it does and kill it, do
An existential change from
God to dog to me to you
To Dr. Who did what?
And did you too?
