The Heart is gold.
I have a heart of gold
But the gold is fake and tinted copper
Not as pure as I wish to be
But I’ve never had a hand in alchemy
Thus copper is what I’ll always be

Every once in awhile I add some paint
What a pretty gold you say
Honesty
It’s just a facade
Just you wait
It will all chip away

Midas lost his touch
This gold is far from pure
Apollo dealt a deed so kind
Yet Midas lost his mind

The vigor of a pirate
My hungered gaze has brought some fame
My eager ways have brought me shame
This treasure is not mine to claim
But in my penchant ways
This heart of gold has cracked again
