There you go
Where you know
What you don’t
Out of sight
Out of mind
Each step
Leads to the next
One foot
In front of the last
One decision
Many possible outcomes
Infinite are all the possibilities
Every step taken
Is part of your past
Every one that remains
Is part of your future
You can’t turn back
You must face what’s ahead
Regardless of your fear
The path followed
Will lead you not where
It is you wish to go
But rather where you must
All purpose
Will be brought to bear
Defined your life will become
Instantly or at a later time
Once it does
Such a definition
Will be carved in stone
And burnt into the
Depths of your very soul
Such a path was made for you
There are other paths
But not like the one
Laid at your feet
Unclear is the builder
Unsure who placed the stones
Perfect form and shape
Boundaries easily defined
On either side is darkness
An unknown variable
Not to be messed with
Behind is all that you’ve done
In front is what remains
Choice’s lead you places
While decisions hold you back
Hesitation is the crux
Of your mortal soul
God will forgive you
If you dare ask
Otherwise you’re screwed
Some of us are quite attune
To living with the price
Of our decisions
And our own direction
A path followed
Will lead where you want to go
Or so at least I suspect
One step
In front of the last
As long as it takes
Walk headlong into fate
But be sure not to confuse
Because fate and faith
Are as different
As forward and backwards…
