Packing away last years lessons.

Yesterday’s suitcase

splitting at the seams

tattered items composed of days

that chafed her resolve;

accordion pleats that muffled her music

lined the bottom, buried under

the language of lessons

that followed the fallacies

wrapped in burlap

that weighed her down.

A year

stacked in destiny’s sequence

Layer after of layer of pain

intermingled with felicity;

fabrics of aesthetic awakenings

folded in fervent seasons of serenity.

The door to wisdom’s attic

swung open

ready to receive

and accommodate the apparel

that enriched her evolution.
