Free verse poem--That's all I'm going to say; I don't like to spoil the plot.
Although her mind runs fluid
Like the vast waters of the open ocean
Full of life with the vivid imagery like that of an undersea kingdom
Her heart burns bright with the intense fire
Of all the pride and glory she feels of her inner self
The purgatory of self indulgence she houses within her being
But where there is light, also within lies the darkness of the past she can't erase
Because when the oceans run dry, lay exposed the thoughts she tried to drown
But couldn't, for they were never hers to kill
And at times, the metropolis of flames is overtaken by these shadows
Consumed by them, fizzling out as if deprived of all oxygen, suffocating under the Cimmerian shade
It is when both of those things occur simultaneously
When her entire Earth fades to black
And the cracks in that Earth open themselves up
To reveal the molten convulsion, running thick with fraudulence and deceit
And when the lava of lies overflows and runs onto the surface
It turns every joyous memory into blackened soot
And when the eruptions subside and all seems peaceful
The ashy remains of those memories
Are whisked elsewhere by the melancholy winds which blow and lead them far away
To an entirely new world
Where the cycle can begin anew
