When my children were young, Charity was very picky about what she played with. On the other hand, my son Christian seemed to make a stick a exciting toy. It never failed that Charity picked the noisiest and most expensive toy in the store. Christian grabbed the cheaper. Usually the two did not have time to really get to enjoy their new item, before three year old Charity was trying to trade with her two year old brother.

There was no comprise. She was the oldest, and she made the rules. I just stood back and watched. “This will end as it always does.”

“Mom, Christian has my toy!” Charity screams still holding Christian's plastic snowman. Christian made all things seem fun to his big sister.
