It's more of a heartbreak-hoping-to-get-another-chance type of poem.

All night long, I’ve waited for this
A time I never want to miss
To hold your arms and feel your lips
Embrace you in a day of bliss

Today was then the day
I have gained courage, come what may
In trying to find the words to say
I’ve been thinking ‘bout this all day

And just now, I saw you coming
Feels like time is fast approaching
Right now, I’m hoping nothing
Though my heart is fast beating

Then just now, you went near me
I pretended I didn't see
We had our usual hello
Until you decided to go

I then told you just not to
And started confessing to you
Never thought of the right words
Due to being so nervous

But then you answered me
This is still not the right time
I never said my plea
I felt washed in the emotion’s tide

Acceptance was my last ally
And felt like my only fate
Just before I said goodbye
I gave you a gift, though ‘was late

You refused it, then dismiss
Saying ‘I do not deserve this’
You never knew the fact
That your name was there, intact

Even if it was long ago
I have never let go
Of the feeling that still flows
In my heart, it still comes and goes
