Written when I was younger , hope people can see the humour rather than the sadness.
My Friends And I

The bar is closed, it's time to take a walk

My friends and I will meet again someday

The moonlight guides, my feet towards my home

Though where that is, I really do not know

For my friends are all dead glasses

With conversation all their own

And the company they give me

Will be forgotten. come the morn

Time is short when it's licensed

And the room turns upside down

Then one of my friends, an empty glass

Stands up and says '' It's my round ''

I stand beside the harbour wall

The night after the one before

What's the use of drinking, if you

Don't get drunk anymore

For my friends were all dead glasses

Their voices lost in the rain

Then they die away completely

And leave me lonely once again
