This is somewhat unfinished although I could just be done where it ends now
The snow's coming down more,
Trying to keep me indoors,
But I can't let it keep me from doing my chores.
I've got stuff to do.

There are places to walk to
And people to talk to
But the cold stings my skin like an apartment tattoo.
I've got stuff to do.

I've got to witness the violence
And the digital silence
Now and tomorrow, just not in the past tense.
I've got stuff to do.

Trade my pencil for paintbrush
And yell at the blank hush
Maybe call up an old crush.
So much stuff to do

Got to feed that black cat
And swing that brown bat
I don't care where I'm at.
I've got stuff to do.

I need to wake up by noon
Although it may be too soon
Can't stay up with the moon.
I've got stuff to do.

Now I'm changing my wild
Like the clothes of a child
Keep my temperament mild.
I've got stuff to do.

Now I'm cleaning the floor
Like the conscience of a whore
Behind a confessional door.
So much stuff to do.

Though I'm where I belong
It's to be elsewhere, I long
No time for a sad song.
I've got stuff to do.
