Colton Michael Palmer 05/13/12 - 01/27/13 thank you for all your smiles we love you!
There’s always been this big meaning
A ruckus of noise in the background
Sometimes we can hear the angels singing
Then one day: no sound.

A pin drops..
Noise implodes!
The world rocks…
Every door slams closed!
              --
We could always feel the presence
Always knew somehow, it would be ok
Clockwork with sun and moon
But out of this darkness, there was no day.

Certainty shattered.
Faith absconded.
Passion smothered ‘neath snow;
Hearts broken round the globe.

Singular sobering moment
Out of the haze into the fog
When our smiles are taken from us
Where is our God?

Every question asked
By every heartbeat, every breath
Though we know the bible’s answers
Knowledge has yet to reconcile death

What cliché must we recite to ourselves
When our children know better than we
That God did not take our loved one
Just to add to his angel army

He can snap his fingers
As we’ve been told
And create an army
A thousandfold

Heal the sick at Sunday service
Fill the sanctuary with his presence
And when we bleed and breathe and pray
He still left us on that day

To be like JOB and suffer still
And still stay strong and say I will
Believe in HIM and proclaim Satan a Liar
And walk out stronger from the Fire
