2 partners await their cue before finishing an important job.
There we stood, looking at each other waiting for the man to give us our cue. We’d been a team for a while now, well Tommy and I had been. This new man standing in front us was just here for the day, to do the deed with us and let us on our way. It was usually just Tommy and me together but this man had experience, and as long as he was there guiding us through it we knew we could get the job done.
It was getting close to time. As soon as we got the cue we could reach down, flash everyone a sight of the shiny metal in our hands and get what we came for, and then hurry out of there before any questions were asked. Tommy got his cue. “I do” he said, slipping the beautiful ring onto my finger, pleasing the crowd.
