How loneliness eats at you
Wandering in the desert,
He was about to give in,
When, in the parching sand, he saw...

I sit here, watching them,
They seem quite happy,
Talking, laughing and joking around,
Together. All this while,
I sit here, Alone
Just me and my thoughts,
No one to talk with,
No one to confide in,
No one to lend a hand,
Sometimes, it is quite disconcerting,
I'm here, ain't I?

In my lonely musings,
I often wonder,
What brought me here?
Was it my fate?
Or something I did wrong?
I am still in the dark,
Loitering hopelessly around.
No hand to hold,
No shoulder to cry on,
No one share the burden of life,
Just me and my thoughts.

...an image.
His joy knew no bounds,
He ran towards it,
With gay abandon...

I remember when it happened,
I felt something new,
A spark.
It was like my first breath.
It was the infusion of life,
Into my mundane existence.
We did everything I yearned for.
I had never felt better,
I was just happy to be a part.

With meetings come partings, I forgot.
We went our own ways, never to meet again.
I am alone once again,
Just me and my thoughts.
No light can I see,
As far as eyes can reach,
I am not too sure,
Will I be able to hold on?

...he came closer and closer,
Only to find sand between his palms.
Alas! All he had seen was a mirage!
