my world is black&white but beautiful-- you touched my life briefly, left me gifts of love
i would not live if you ever left
something i cannot endure—
the return of nightmares
within your hands are
the gentle whispers of my fragile faith
i would not live if you ever left

you left
i lived
i still have my earth and
my skies

i hear the truth now in the
deception of your silence
despair tightens its hold
strangles the last breath
faith expires

the colors drain
from my world
